BackToSchool-Party at Eindhoven Zoo
On Sunday, September 4, just before schools start again in the south of the Netherlands, Eindhoven Zoo in Nuenen is organizing a BackToSchool-Party. On this day children may give the animals a grade for their performances in the various shows. One Two Trio will also perform and there will be a BackToSchool-Stand.
Animals are also never done learning, according to them at Eindhoven Zoo. Just like people, they can learn something new all the time. "We are very curious as to where those learning points lie according to the children," says Stephan Rijnen, Head Zookeeper at Eindhoven Zoo. "They therefore assess the animals on the basis of an Animal Report on, for example, their behavior - are they social, do they listen well to the keeper - but also on their health. In this way, the children learn playfully that animals are also taught and why this is important."
BackToSchool-Party Animal Report
Eindhoven Zoo has created an Animal Report that can be picked up (for free) on Sunday, September 4 from 10:00 am. With this, children can visit three different shows (the Animal Show at 1 p.m., Elephant Show at 2 p.m. and Seal Show at 3 p.m.). During the show, they give the participating animals report grades, just like a real school teacher. They turn in the report card, receiving a gift. At 4 p.m., the announcement of the animals' report grades will follow during the Animal Quiz.
Performances and School Stall
To make the BackToSchool-Party a real party, One Two Trio, known for their party hits like "Juffrouw Toos" and "10 little garden gnomes," will perform at 2:30 p.m. And those who still need school supplies can visit the BackToSchool Booth for Eindhoven Zoo drinking cups, lunch boxes, friends' books and more cool school supplies.
