Eindhoven Zoo: little problem with peeing monkey Pico
The Barbary apes at Eindhoven Zoo in Nuenen are not very happy at the moment. Namely, monkey Pico urinates all day long in the water of the moat surrounding their enclosure. The park management of Eindhoven Zoo has announced measures to at least stop the continuous urination. These will be officially implemented next Friday.
That the Barbary apes are not happy with the behavior of their fellow monkey is obvious. Park manager Martin van Hees understands: "Looking at a peeing monkey all day is of course no fun. But we have come up with a solution. We have agreed that we will regulate his peeing. Visitors can help with that. Pico now only pees as a mascot if a visitor donates a random euro coin to Stichting Wildlife. Exactly how that all works will become clear on the spot."
Peeing Pico
Of course, the "peeing Pico" can also be found on Eindhoven Zoo's new park map. New inhabitants like the parmawallabies (from ZooParc Overloon) and the kirk's have also found a place on the map. The new chimpanzee enclosure is also already drawn. The new floor plan can be viewed online athttps://www.dierenrijk.nl/plattegrond
Parmawallaby
The parmawallaby is found in the wild in the forests of eastern Australia. They prefer to live alone. A baby wallaby is called a "joey. The cub is born after only five weeks and is then only one centimeter tall. After a little over six months, the joey is big enough to leave the pouch. At that point, another joey is often born immediately.
New name
Stichting Wildlife (formerly 'Friends of Safaripark Beekse Bergen and Eindhoven Zoo') is active in Safaripark Beekse Bergen, Eindhoven Zoo and now also the other Libéma zoos AquaZoo Friesland and ZooParc Overloon. Hence the new name of the foundation. It is committed to various conservation projects and is also involved in various activities in the parks.
