In nature, I help stir up the soil so that new plants can grow well in that place. Do you know how I do that? I do it with my snout! Because I search the soil for tasty morsels to eat. Large chunks of soil are churned up that way because I am often together with conspecifics.
As many as 100 wild boars have been counted in a group, and most of them are females. Males are a bit more on their own. By digging, we can also make a mud puddle. I roll around in that. That way I don't get too hot in the summer. The mud on my body also helps against itchy critters.
