Global residents

Most raccoons live in the Americas, which is where we originated. In Europe and Asia we are now also found because people have released raccoons here. We are in more and more countries, including the Netherlands and Belgium. But you don't see me very often, because I'm a nocturnal animal.

Hide-and-seek

In what kind of area I live doesn't matter much to me; in fields, in the forest and also in the city I have a good time. There I find many hiding places and also food among people's garbage.

Rinse

However, I always like to have water nearby. I put food in the water first before I eat it. Then I investigate with my paws if it is really eatable.
