I like hanging out with my groupmates. We groom each other's fur and by doing so, we let them know who we like. You humans call this fleecing! It also helps for relaxation and we get rid of small bugs.
At night, two or three of us sleep snugly together. When a baby is born, the whole group helps babysit. Male monkeys, too. My group consists of about 20 monkeys, but there are also larger groups. There are about as many males as females in the group.
In Europe, I live on Gibraltar. There, many tourists come to see us. But because people cut down many trees in North Africa, there is less and less place for us to live and we are threatened with extinction. Baby monkeys are also caught and sold as pets, even though this is forbidden.
