Hairy boy

When guinea pigs are born, they already have hair, teeth and nails. They drink milk from their mother at first, but can also eat solid food right away. Usually one to six young are born.

Danger!

Guinea pigs are pets and thus have no enemies. Still, they sometimes get spooked by something. What guinea pigs do when frightened depends on whether they are alone or in a group. If they are alone and they hear a loud noise, for example, they usually sit dead still. If they are in a group and there is danger they all run in a different direction. This way they can confuse a predator.
