From the very first day, a young ibex can jump from rock to rock. Good huh! My special wide hooves keep me from slipping.

    Fighter

My curved, ribbed horns can reach 1 meter in length. With these I can fight very well in the rut period. When I fight, I stand up completely straight and bang very hard against the horns of the other. The winner becomes the master of a herd of female ibex.

    Back in nature

Ibex live on steep slopes above the tree line in the Alps. In only 1 area in Italy have we never left. In the other places, people placed ibex back in the wild. This included ibex born in a zoo.
