Workplaces and children's activities for parents at Eindhoven Zoo with teacher strike

Mierlo, Jan. 23, 2020 - Eindhoven Zoo is offering parents during the teachers' strike on Thursday, Jan. 30, the chance to work while their children are supervised doing fun things in the park. Especially for this day, the zoo is arranging workstations for fathers and mothers, so they can quietly take care of the most important things there, knowing that their children will have a great time under responsible supervision.

On Thursday, January 30, parents can visit the restaurant between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., where there is also WIFI. During those two hours, activities and tours will be organized for children.

For example, participating children can craft a surprise for a (domestic) animal under the watchful eye of a supervisor. Special tours are also organized for them in the park while their fathers or mothers update mail or review documents. The intention is that parents stay in the park while the children have fun among the animals. Of course, parents can also go into the park with their children afterwards.

Getting into the park yourself

Chantal Ermers, general manager at Eindhoven Zoo, hopes this action will give working parents some relief. "Often Thursday is a busy working day and for many parents it will be difficult to drop everything to accommodate their children this strike day. By giving them a chance to get some more work done to get the most important things done while their children are having a great time, we hope to accommodate them a little bit."
